How to Move from Gmail / RediffMail / HotMail / YahooMail to ProEmail
Stage 1: Quick and Live Migration
Set Up Email Forwarding:
- Go to the settings of your Gmail, RediffMail, HotMail, or Yahoo Mail.
- Find the email forwarding section and enter your new ProEmail address. This will ensure you receive any new emails sent to your old address.
Forward Important Emails for Immediate Access:
- Select important emails from your previous account and forward them to your ProEmail address for easy access and immediate use.
Start Using Your ProEmail:
- Start sending new emails and replying to messages using your ProEmail address. This will help establish your new email identity.
Notify Your current working Contacts:
- Send a brief WhatsAPP message to your contacts informing them of your new ProEmail address. Example “Hi, I just sent you an email from my new ProEmail address. Please check and confirm receipt. Let’s use this email for all future communications. Thanks!”
Update Accounts and Subscriptions:
- Gradually update your email address on any accounts or subscriptions linked to your old email.
Stage 2: Old Emails
Scenario 1: If You Don’t Have Outlook Desktop App
Forward Important Old Emails:
- When you have time, select important old emails from your previous account and forward them to your ProEmail address for easy access.
Leave Some Emails for Reference:
- Consider keeping very old emails in your original account for reference. This helps maintain a complete record without cluttering your new inbox.
Scenario 2: Move Through Outlook
Configure Your Old Email Accounts in Outlook:
- Set up your Gmail, RediffMail, HotMail, or Yahoo Mail in the Outlook desktop app.
Export/Backup Your Emails:
- Export your emails to a PST file. This serves as a backup of all your old emails.
Remove Old Accounts from Outlook:
- Once the backup is complete, remove your old email accounts from Outlook.
Configure ProEmail in Outlook:
- Set up your new ProEmail account in the Outlook desktop app.
Import the PST File:
- Import the backup PST file into your ProEmail account to transfer your old emails.
